Jharkhand Government will sack doctors who are continuously missing from duty.

The Jharkhand government is adamant on the decision to cancel the registration along with the dismissal of doctors who are continuously absent from duty illegally. Jharkhand Health Services Association is opposing the cancellation of the registration. Meanwhile, the state government has decided to identify and dismiss three more such doctors and recommend cancellation of registration to the National Medical Commission and Jharkhand Medical Council.

The doctors against whom this action is being taken include Dr. Ikfat Rasool, Medical Officer posted at PHC, Rahela, Garhwa, Dr. Rinku Kumari posted at Community Health Center, Chandankiyari, Bokaro and Dr. Farhana, posted at Sadar Hospital, Giridih. Huh. Dr. Iffat Rasool is absent from 6th January 2020, Dr. Rinku Kumari 20th November 2015 and Dr. Farhana continuously since 3rd August 2021.

Taking the decision of the said action, the Health Department has asked them for clarification for the second time under the prescribed procedure. This action will be taken if there is no satisfactory answer to the explanation. The state government has so far taken action against more than a dozen such doctors.

Gumla’s doctor will not get salary

Here, Dr. Jyoti Kujur, posted in PHC, Bharano, Gumla, was unofficially absent from March 13, 2020 to September 30, 2021. On this charge, departmental proceedings were initiated against them, on the basis of the inquiry report, it has been decided not to pay the salary and allowances for the said period. Also, the said period will not count towards his pension period and will be treated as break in service.

Pension of civil surgeon of Jamtara cut for five years

The Health Department has decided to deduct 10 percent from the pension amount of the then Civil Surgeon of Jamtara Dr. Mahavir Prasad Gopalika for five years. In this regard, a second clarification has been asked from both the doctors under the prescribed procedure. Action against Dr. Gopalika is being decided on the basis of departmental inquiry report on various charges.

Opposition to the permission of the Medical Board for leave, Jhasa called a meeting

Doctors working in government hospitals are also opposing the order of the Jharkhand government, which has made the permission of the medical board mandatory for leave on the basis of illness. Taking this decision recently, the Health Department has constituted a Medical Board in each district under the chairmanship of civil surgeons. Jharkhand Health Services Association has called a meeting on 13 October in protest against this .
